Deborah Clark joined the Elections office in 1978, and served as Deputy Administrator 1982 through June 2000.
Governor Jeb Bush appointed Clark Supervisor of Elections in June 2000, to complete the unexpired term of Dorothy Ruggles.
Clark was then elected to a four-year term on November 7, 2000, and re-elected in 2004 and 2008.
Her objective is to provide the most reliable, accurate and secure elections possible for Pinellas County.
Clark received her official designation as a Certified Elections and Registration Administrator (CERA) from The Election Center in 2005.
Clark is very active in the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections (FSASE) and has served in the following positions: Director; Get Out the Vote Committee Chair; Canvassing Board Committee Co-chair; Scholarship Committee Co-chair; Education/Training Committee Co-chair; and member of the Vision Committee, Bylaws and Rules Committee, Communication and Publications Committee, Rules Development Committee, Legislative Committee and Reapportionment Ad Hoc Committee.
Clark is a member of the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Elected Officials and Treasurers (IACREOT).
Clark is a current Board Member, and has served as Secretary and Chairman of the Pinellas Federal Credit Union.
Clark is an Associate Board Member of Kids Voting Tampa Bay.
Clark served as Pinellas County Government Chairman for the year 2000 and 2003 United Way Campaigns; served on the United Way Allocations Panel for ten years; and is a current Keel Club member.
Clark is a member of Morton Plant Foundation, Arbor Vitae Society and Women in Philanthropy.
Clark taught election administration classes for new municipal clerks through the Florida Institute of Government, Florida State University.
