In addition to the regular March 9, 2010 Municipal Elections, the City of St. Pete Beach has asked the Supervisor of Elections to conduct a "Mail Ballot" Special Referendum Election, pursuant to Florida Statute 101.6102.
ALL REGISTERED VOTERS in the City of St. Pete Beach will be mailed ballots for the referendum election as follows:
January 22 – Overseas and military ballots were mailed [Florida Statutes 101.6103(7) and 101.62(4)(a)]
February 17 - Domestic ballots will be mailed to ALL registered voters living in the City of St. Pete Beach. [Florida Statute 101.6103 requires that all domestic ballots be mailed no sooner than 20 days prior to the election, and no later than 10 days prior to the election.]Voters do not need to request a ballot.
Voters may also pick up a ballot or vote in person at any Supervisor of Elections office beginning January 22.
All ballots must be received in any Supervisor of Elections Office by 7 p.m. March 9, 2010. No polling places will be open for this election.
Voters who do not receive their ballots within a few days of the mailing dates above may call (727) 464-6788 to check their status.
Voters who need a replacement ballot will need to complete a Replacement Ballot Oath, sign it and return it to the Supervisor of Elections in person, by mail, or by fax (727) 464-7636. This oath is required by Florida Statute 101.6103(4) concerning mail ballot elections.
